Game Previews: Peria Chronicles and Hyper Universe

I’m strictly a console and handheld gamer but that does not mean I absolutely neglect PC gaming- and 2 of the games nearing end development that caught my interest are Peria Chronicles and Hyper Universe which may be heavy contenders in the online gaming world once it has been launched.

Peria Chronicles

If you were to mix the creation system of Dark Cloud, the monster catching from Pokemon, the summoning system found in Final Fantasy X, and the free roam battle system found in 3d Tales games, then the resulting offspring will be Peria Chronicles.

Formely known as Project NT, Peria Chronicles is an MMORPG which uses cel-shaded anime style for the graphics which gives a unique semi-realistic feel for both characters and the environment. The game has 2 main features: battles and creating things.

Peria Chronicles puts your imagination to work by crafting almost everything as long as it can be done; from creating things, cooking food, building houses or even changing the terrain as you see fit. If you’d like to, you can even create complex labyrinths so people who wants infiltrate your home base will get lost for good or even build your house in whatever tall mountain or underground dungeon you wan to live.

Not much is mentioned about battles although you can fight using your own monsters that you have caught and summon them in order to attack enemy monsters or other player characters. It will be cool if you can fight alongside your summoned monster but base on the trailer, looks like you wont be able to do it.

Hyper Universe

Hyper Universe on the other hand is a MOBA which is played in 2d side scrolling where you beat baddies to level-up in order to crush your opponents and as well to crush their tower in order to achieve victory. Sounds easy right? The levels are reminiscent of Castlevania’s in which its huge and filled with multi-levels not to mention an assortment of bosses and mid-bosses that are hiding and ready to ambush you in sight.

Go! Ultimate Attack!

What impressed me during the trailer is the assortment of characters you can choose from: from ninjas to robots… There’s even a power ranger and Bruce lee inspired character on the roster.

And that is all the time we have for today. How about you? What are your thoughts about these two games that will soon to be launched? Feel free to leave a comment in the comments section below. Once again, thank you for reading and happy gaming!
