Hello everyone, DarkdaemonPK2 here. May is the second month were most of the schools in the Philippines are still close due to summer vacation. Summer vacation is a time of joy and merry making since you get to do anything under the sun without worrying about anything in the world. And what better way to celebrate May by making another post about more errors and inconsistencies found in anime, right?
Hey, don’t be like that!
Eherm… Despite Nyaruko’s howls of dismay and feelings of being overwhelmed, we will yet have another round of exposing the screw-ups found in anime since it’s important to have fun and learn new things while on vacation. Muhahahahaha! Roll VTR please!
1. Glue that Really Sticks
In episode 5 of Majikoi, we found our main protagonist in excruciating pain after he found out that his prized girls in bloomers photo collection was severely defiled after Miyako glued her images on the faces of the cover beauties.
Because of this, our main guy’s retribution resulted in Miyako’s hand being glued to Cookie’s head (her trusty robot friend).
We see them on the next scene on the way to school while her hand is still being glued to Cookie’s head. What makes me wonder in disbelief is that how is it possible she was able to wear her uniform while her hand is still stuck? There’s actually no way to do that unless they will meticulously cut and sew some parts of the uniform in order for her to get dressed properly. However, I find that really painstaking and stupid as well in which they could have at least just found the means to remove the glue so that she can move freely. But, hey! This is anime we are talking about! Maybe they did that just for comedic effects. I can accept that but it’s still an error in my eyes.
2. Communication Concussion
Episode 195 of the Pokemon anime features the character of the day Simon, who claims he has the ability to talk to Pokemon.
All of a sudden, Officer Jenny appears out of the blue and accuses poor Simon of being a fake Pokemon interpreter in order to swindle money from his victims. They got into an argument but the things that this lovely officer in short skirt said that “Pokemon cannot understand human speech or speak it either” made me cringe for a bit.
Before the addition of Slowking in Generation 2, we all know that Team Rocket’s Meowth was able to talk and walk like a human with nothing but sheer determination and will power. You gotta admire the little guy for that. And even though most Pokemon cannot talk like a human, all of them can understand human speech as evident on how they can follow their trainer’s commands during a Pokemon battle. Yup, we have an error in our presence all right.
3. Tricky Trousers
In episode 6 of Chō Mashin Eiyūden Wataru titled “Grand Prix in Flying Village,” Wataru and his party were amazed about how all the houses in the area had wheels which resulted in all sorts of zany effects, much to the annoyance and grief of the residents that were affected.
We are introduced to Nabi, who is the character of the day as she invites Wataru and his friends to her underground garage.
If you will observe closely she is wearing pants while going down the steps. However…
…on the next scene she is seen not wearing pants while serving a drink to Wataru. Either that or she just feels more comfortable without her pants while being indoors.
But on the next scene while they were all seated, we see Nabi wearing her pants again. All right, very suspicious…
I guess we now know why Wataru was smiling in this scene for he secretly thanked the people in charge of the animation for not forgetting to put Nabi’s trousers back in place. Yup, an error alright.
4. Switcheroo Socks #2
I’m a fan of girls wearing thigh high socks (I guess it’s my fetish) and very critical when it comes to it. Episode 3 of Kobayshi-san’s Dragon Maid introduced us some of Tohru’s friends like the well endowed and busty Lucoa who wears thigh high socks.
The way she was introduced to the audience was that the camera panned her from bottom to top giving us a clear view on what she is wearing in a whole. The opening theme of the anime shows that she is wearing thigh high socks but it is clearly shown here she is not.
Her thigh high socks are still not shown as evident on this scene while Kobyashi was looking at Lucoa’s body while complaining why dragons are so “big” in size. Well, dragons are portrayed as “big” in myths and legends, right?
Still no sign of Lucoa wearing her thigh high socks. If this will keep on, I’ll just go home now…
And on the last scene, we finally see her wearing her thigh high socks. Oh, Kyoto Animation, what is your Quality Control doing? It’s already 2017 and you managed to land an error on this one?
5. Swapping Sizes
On episode 3 of Tayutama: Kiss on my Deity, there is a scene where Mashiro (the one with fox ears and tail) and her group were cornered by the student body preventing them from escaping the school. It’s noticeable that her size is of a high school student but a bit shorter compared to the male protagonist.
Mashiro, being fed up, finally resorted to use her powers to scare the hindrances a little to teach them a lesson.
She chants a spell in which her hair turns white whenever she uses her powers. The next scene made me laugh a bit because…
When she leaped or flew in the air, her body just shrunk to a size of a child. I don’t what happened here but the next scene made me confirm she did reverted to being a kid…
…because her size is still the same as of a kid’s on this scene that followed. If her body did changed back to child’s body, how come the uniform she is wearing did not become too big for her to wear? Did the uniform also conveniently shrank to fit her current body size?
The following scene shows her being back on her original size. Perhaps there was some errors made by the animation team on that particular scene but it really should not be an issue when it comes to things like that, except if the animation department was cross cutting on the expenses or had to rush this episode due to time constraints, or a combination of both. Either way, that’s and error and inconsistency for you.
Thank you fore reading today’s post! I’ll be doing more of this in the coming months so please stay tuned. Comments? Suggestions? Violent reactions? Please write ’em all on the comments section below. Have a great day and I’m outta here!
